St. Andrews: West Sands
West Sands is one of Fife’s most popular beaches. The beach, used in the filming of Chariots of Fire, and its extensive sand dunes stretch for almost two miles. Behind the sand dunes are the world famous golf courses of St Andrews. The beach is well equipped with numerous facilities for visitors.
The Eden Estuary is located at the northern end of West Sands. The estuary and consequently, West Sands, has been designated as an international area for conservation.
